A species that can measure up to more than 2 meters long; it inhabits reefs and rocky sea floors, where many times they are observed with the head
outside of their dens or caves, opening up and closing their mouth.

They are generally inoffensive animals unless they are provoked or in the case they rush at some fish that a submarine fisherman has captured, either close or inside a cave.

The diver should avoid to introduce his hands in caves and holes of the reefs, since the bite of this species causes wounds that very easily infect, because their teeth contain decomposed food.
